Exciting new job opportunity at Lutterworth & Villages Foodbank

6th May 2022

We are hopeful that, from a Covid point of view, we are beginning to turn a corner and so feel it is the right time to tell you about some extremely exciting plans that our Steering Group, St Mary’s Lutterworth PCC, Trussell Trust and our Project Manager have been working together on for some time now.

We feel very strongly that as we start to find our way out of the pandemic, it isn’t right to simply return to our pre-pandemic way of working. The need in the communities we serve has grown, changed and evolved since Covid, so we want to ensure that our services are relevant and meet our clients’ needs as they are now.

So, we are delighted to announce that we have been accepted onto The Trussell Trust Pathfinder Foodbank Programme. We have been selected to be part of a group of around 60 other Trussell Trust foodbanks from across the network, all looking to find innovative ways to support their local communities but working towards the end goal of ending the need for Foodbanks nationally.

Becoming a Pathfinder foodbank involves researching, trialling and exploring new ways of supporting people in need, with a view to reducing foodbank use while still supporting clients with food and supplies to meet their immediate need. We are keen to connect with our clients and try to understand their needs better; involving them in our projects and discussions and letting their voice be heard. Covid has prevented us from fully engaging with our clients but now we can collaborate with them and other partner organisations to bring fresh life into the support we provide to our communities.

We are pleased to announce that we are recruiting a new member of staff to join the Foodbank team, allowing our Project Manager to concentrate on planning and managing our Pathfinder journey. We are looking for an Operational Supervisor to take on the day to day running of the Foodbank from an operational point of view, as well as being involved in Pathfinder projects as they come along. If you feel that this role may suit you, then please find the application form here and role description below:
