Thank you from our Project Manager

22nd December 2020

I would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers who have coped amazingly with everything this year has thrown at them and have ensured that we have been able to meet the huge increase in need in our communities. We have given out over 2,400 3 -day emergency parcels since April and we simply could not have done that without the skills, hard-work and compassion of such a committed team. We have missed many members of our fantastic team who have had to step back from volunteering for a while due to Covid but are hopeful it won’t be too long before we can be together once again next year.

Thank you also to the wonderful partners who have supported us in our endeavours and made it possible for us to adapt to a Covid-secure delivery model. Thank you to everyone at Lutterworth Community Transport, Blaby District Council, Harborough District Council and all our referral agencies for everything you have done to support the most vulnerable in our communities.

Thank you to our wonderful supporters who have donated food and funds so wonderfully as always, but even more generously this year than ever before. Thank you to SaxMan Steve who has played his Sax tirelessly around all of the local villages and beyond, raising spirits during lockdown plus raising thousands of pounds for our Foodbank. We are truly overwhelmed.

This year, more than ever, thank you doesn’t seem to go far enough. Everyone has had so many personal difficulties to face this year but the generosity of spirit in our communities, the constant outpouring of help for those who suddenly found themselves in financial difficulties, has been heartwarming to experience.

I know our clients join me in thanking every one of you who has helped to make their situation that little bit easier and for giving them some breathing space to try and deal with their crisis.

It gives us hope for a future when one day, with our communities help, we can live in a country where everyone has enough to buy the essentials and feed their families without the need for Foodbanks. Until that day comes, you have helped us to keep on running and being there for everyone who needs us.

We thank you all and wish you all a very peaceful and restful Christmas.
